Montrose, Travel and Hotels

Class Info

Please note:

The informatiom on this page regarding hotels was complied in 2007. I cannot make any claims as to its current accuracy.

Travel and airlines:

If you are flying into Montrose the airport designator is MTJ. Most flights will route through Denver or Salt Lake to connect with Montrose however
there are 2 or 3 direct flights from other cities during the ski season and possibly during the summer months as well.
Many major rental companies have offices in the airport lobby. If you will be renting a vehicle you may wish to book in advance, While I have never used a taxi in Montrose there were reports from last year's FC Faux Bois class was that taxi service is relatively expensive here.

Hotels:

Montrose is a small town. Most hotels are located on East Main Street, are relatively inexpensive and situated close to all points in Montrose.

This place is very nice with outdoor pool. Kitchen units are also available. Starting at $65 per night plus tax.

[may give you a deduction of $25/night for a weekly rate]

Beside the hotels and B+Bs listed on this page there are many others as well located in the Montrose area. All these hotels [and there are more in this
area] are close to each other as well as movies, bars and restaurants.

Montrose is a located in the beautiful Uncompahgre valley in western Colorado. There are some very nice hot springs in the area [about 40 minutes away] and the
Black Canyon of the Gunnison River [America's newest National Park] is must see only 10 miles east of Montrose. Plan on doing some soaking and sightseeing while you are here!
