I am the epitome of a "shade tree" engineer. I enjoy solving problems, or adding functionality via mechanical solutions. I was a builder prior to the recent chapter of governmental fiscal irresponsibility. (is that grammatically correct??)
Also I am an ASE certified mechanic, but not by vocation.

(Long story...) I've rebuilt every part of a vehicle, and designed, installed, and used a conversion on my diesel to burn straight vegetable oil.. for years. I'm generally skeptical of a lot of modern practices concerning technology believing it is primarily driven by money and NOT efficiency and/or longevity. Typically, this leads me to search for less "popular" techniques/technologies.
I'm always eager to entertain new solutions to age old problems. Hence, being here. Looking forward to mastering a new skill, and learning how to apply this technology to a myriad of scenarios.
