[Ferro List] Microcracking

I have tried a similar product made by BASF Admixtures, Tetraguard. I
think the chemistry of Eclipse and Tetraguard are quite similar. I
didn't quantify the shrinkage but it appeared to be effective. The
literature suggests that it does reduce shrinkage and it didn't affect
the strength or workability of my mix but note that you need quite a
lot of it compared to something like air entrainer.
On another note the CTS Komponent produces a similar end result to
shrinkage reducing admixtures but it works in a different way. The
admixtures work to reduce shrinkage (makes sense based on their name)
while the Komponent is a cement that actually expands on curing which
can offset some/all of the shrinkage produced by the curing of the
regular cement in the mix. Mostly a technicality but its interesting
to note.
Hope that helps,
Lyle
