Good point. I've also used paraffin wax to line my molds. Pink foam  
is wonderful for mold making as is expanding foam in a can. I molded  
a sink (upside down), an 8' tall aquarium sump and an entire arched  
bedroom ceiling in place this way with inlaid stones. See:

Vibrating the mold sufficiently and using a very smooth mix is critical.

A mix of beeswax and carnauba wax is often used. See:
