Question for Paul & anyone else that has a Tirrolessa Sprayer:
I've had this sprayer for several years now, and finally am getting closer to using it. I know that there is recommendations about minimum compressor size, and I seem to remmber it as a mnimum 5 h.p. gas compressor, and a 220v electric minimum. I also recall Richard McCabe mentioning that much more air was needed to spray a PVA-ECC mix, and I think someone had chirped in with an opinion that a 7 to 10 h.p. gas was a more accurate minimum.
I would sure like to hear of peoples actual experiences with these sprayers. I have a three phase used electric compressor, but am loath to pay for the extra installation and cost. The least expensive electric compressor that Quincy makes in the 220v - single phase category is 1300.00 dollars, and has a 60 gallon tank. I understand that the tank is meaningless for continuous use of a heavy air user like a sprayer, but I don't mind working in spurts.
The subject is a little confusing in that manufacturer horse power ratings can be bogus. Does anyone know what the actual air needs of the Tirolessa Sprayer? Any war stories of success or failure with this sprayer using different air sources?
For those that aren't aware of the sprayer, Tirolessa Sprayers are hard to find, and Paul sells these as part of the Ferrocement Educational Network.
Thanks in advance, chris
